    Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin Al-Abbaad On Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen

In The Name Of Allaah The Most Merciful The Bestower Of Mercy[

    Question to Ash-Shaikh Al-Allaamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad [hafidha-hullaah]

Question: There are Jamaa-aat (groups) such as Al-Ikhwaan and other than them; Are these Jamaa-aat from Ahlus Sunnah and what is your advice around this subject matter?

Answer: What is well known of the Jamaa-aat is that the sound one amongst them is the one upon the position that the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and his companions were upon, due to the fact that when the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) was asked about the Firqatun Naaji-yah (the saved sect) amongst the seventy-three sects, he said: ‘’They are those upon that which I and my companions are upon’’

These divergent new sects, firstly: They are newly invented. Their emergence was in the 14th century. They were not present before the 14th Century. They were not present in the world; they emerged in the 14th Century.

As for the upright methodology and the straight path, its foundation was from the time of the advent of the noble Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam). So whoever follows this truth and guidance, then he is saved and rescued; and whoever opposes it, then indeed he is deviated. And what is known of those sects and groups is that they have with them affairs that are correct and affairs that are wrong, but their errors are big and great, so caution is employed towards them.

And there should be eagerness to follow the Jamaa-ah that is ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa-ah, and they are those upon the methodology of the pious predecessors of this ummah; those whose explanations are in accordance with what the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) came with. And explanation of the affairs is not what comes from such and such person upon paths and methodologies newly invented in the 14th Century after the Hijrah.

So, those groups or the group that was referred to was founded and it emerged in the 14th century upon this methodology, and upon this well- known path which is adherence to that which those who newly invented and brought about such methodology/methodologies were upon. So (their) compliance is not upon the evidences from the Book and the Sunnah, rather it is based on opinions, views and newly invented methodologies upon which they establish their codes of conduct and methodologies. And from the most manifest of that is that love and hate is for the one who joins them and the one who is with them.

For example, the group Ikhwaan: Whoever joins them is from them and is taken as an ally; and the one who is not with them is the opposite. If you are with them, even if you are from the filthiest of people, and even if you from the raafidah, you are still their brother and companion. And for this reason, from their methodology is that they gather every Tom, Dick and Harry, even the Raafidiy who hates and detests the sahaabah and does not take the truth that came from the sahaabah. If he (i.e. a person) joins them in their group, he is their companion and is considered to be one from them; and upon him and them is what is incumbent between them.

Therefore, a person should hold onto the path of of safety and securty if he is to be upon truth and guidance, which the companions of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) were upon, and which the pious predecessors of this ummah who followed and traversed upon their methodology and manners were upon.

Trustworthiness (In Religion) Is Not Merely Affirmed through Fine Physical Appearance (in one’s clothing and Islamic personality)

Ya’qoob Ibn Sufyaan (rahimahullaah) said, ‘’I heard a person saying to Ahmad Bin Yoonus (rahimahullaah):‘’ Is Abdullaah Al-Umariy a weak narrator of hadeeth?’’ He (Ahmad) said: ‘’Indeed, he is weak. He is a Raafidi who harbours hatred towards his forefathers; and had you seen his beard, his graceful and fine physical (appearance), you would have conceded that he is trustworthy.’’ Al-Haafidh Al-Khateeb al Baghdaadee (rahimahullaah) said: So Ahmad Ibn Yoonus used this as a proof (to show that) Abdullaah Al-Umari (appeared) trustworthy through that which was not a proof; because fine physical appearance is something shared between a trustworthy person and a disparaged person.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) stated in Ar-Radd Alal-Bakri: ‘’these ones (i.e. Bakri and others like him) have a religious and righteous appearance, but they are not from the people of knowledge; those who (possess) knowledge of the rulings of the religion and whose statements are accepted regarding the prescribed duties in Islaam and knowledge (regarding) what is lawful and unlawful. They (i.e. Bakri and those like him) neither have any legislated proofs with them nor a transmitted (text) from an approved scholar…..

A Reply to Those Who Seek To Place Salafiyyah at the Same Level as the Other False and Innovated Methodologies

    Sheikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (hafidha-hullaah) stated:
    True Salafiyyah Is Islaam

Salafiyyah is to follow the creed and methodology the Salafus Saaleh (pious predecessors), the Companions of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), those who followed them and the virtuous generations. Allaah (The Most High) said:

''And the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansaar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhaajiroon) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allaah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him.''9:100

And Allaah (The Most High) said concerning the Companions of the Prophet: ''Verily, those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard and fought with their property and their lives in the Cause of Allaah as well as those who gave (them) asylum and help, - these are (all) allies to one another.' 8:72 until He (Subhaanah) said: said: ''And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you, (in the Cause of Allaah) they are of you.'' 8:75

Allaah (The One Free From All Imperfections) stated in Sooratul Hashar: ‘‘(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allaah and to please Him. And helping Allaah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say); And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them.'' 59:8-9 up until He (The Most High) stated: ''And those who came after them say: "Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith.'' 59:10

The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ''This ummah will split into seventy three sects; all of them will enter the fire except one. They said, 'which is that (saved sect) O Messenger of Allaah? He (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) replied: 'those who are upon that which I and my companions are upon today''

He (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ''Stick to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Khulafaa after me''

Therefore, Salafiyyah is the methodology obligatory upon us to traverse, and we are to abandon all other methodologies that are in opposition to it. Salafiyyah is the Firqatun Naa-jiyah (the saved sect); they are Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah and the Taa-ifatul Mansoorah (the aided group) till the day of judgement. May Allaah place us amongst them.

However, ascription to this methodology requires knowledge of its fundamentals in order that the Muslim may adhere to it. It is also required to have knowledge of the other methodologies that are in opposition to Salafiyyah in order to avoid them. Salafiyyah upon the path of the pious predecessors has to be upon knowledge and clear sightedness. It is not enough for the person to ascribe himself to (salafiyyah) whilst being ignorant of it or being in opposition to it. And for that reason Allaah (The Most High) said:

''And also those who followed them exactly (in Faith)'': They followed with knowledge; they neither go into extremes nor into unwarranted harshness. They neither exaggerate nor become negligent, such as those who ascribe themselves to the Madhabs of the four Imams (Abu Haneefah, Maalik, Shaa-fi'ee and Ahmad) whilst being in opposition to them in Creed and Worship. And not like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the pious predecessors yet he either declares the Muslims to be disbelievers or rebels against the Muslim rulers, or he goes towards any other direction of extremism. This person is not a follower of the pious predecessors; rather he is named a khaariji or a mutazili. And not like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the pious predecessors, but he speaks with the statement of the mur'ji'a in the affair of Eemaan and Kufr. This is not Salafiyyah.

Therefore, it is obligatory to pay attention to this affair and not to mix the salafi methodology with the other methodologies that are in opposition to it. And they say: ''all these methodologies (including the salafi methodology) are not from Islaam.'' This is speculative speech, deviation in judgment and a cause of confusing the people through doubts.

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Question To Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee (may Allaah preserve him)

A lot of faults and differing occurs amongst the Salafi youth as a result of the return or claimed return of an opposer of the Salafi Manhaj to the domain of Salafiyyah; What is your advice to the youth, (as) some of them accept the repentance of (such a person) and others do not.

    Answer:

Whatever the case may be, if a person falls into Sin, doubts and innovations, and then repents, turns in repentance and obedience to Allaah, it is not permissible for anyone to close the door of repentance in his face; because the door of repentance is open up until the sun rises from The West. If a person repents and returns, it is obligatory to praise and encourage him.

However, some people are well known for lying and inconsistency, so he acts as if he is repentant. With regards to this person, we say: Inshaa-Allaah your repentance is accepted, but we are cautious of him until he manifests correct repentance.

Abul Hasan Al-Ash-ari (rahimahullaah) announced his repentance on the pulpit. He used to be an extreme Mutazili. He was a leader from the leaders of the Mutazilah and he persisted in defence of this evil school of thought for forty years and repented thereafter. He announced his repentance, and from the proofs of his repentance is that he began to author books of astounding refutations against the Mutizalah; refutation against their falsehoods which they made to resemble the truth.

So there are signs of truthful acts of repentance that dispels doubts; meaning: He publicised and manifested what he displayed to the people that he follows the truth. There are affairs showing the truthfulness of (the repentant one) and there are factual evidences showing the untruthfulness of (the one who merely claims to have repented). He is encouraged if there are factual evidences showing his truthfulness, and it is incumbent upon the Salafiyyoon to be cautious of him if there are factual evidences showing only the mere claims of his, as it may be that he is being deceitful; because right now is an era of politics, hypocrisy and Taqiyyah.

The groups are widespread; It is not possible to ruin the Salafi youth and hinder the Salafi youth from the Salafi Methodology, except with either claims of (ascription) to Salafiyyah or (claims) of withdrawal from mistakes that are in opposition to the Salafi Manhaj. So if they incline towards him, he may be able to entice the one he can entice amongst them towards a corrupt Manhaj. This does take place.

Whatever the case may be, encouragement is given to the one from whom repentance is manifested and it is incumbent to be cautious of the one from whom playing games is manifested. The Salafiyyoon should be alert with regards to the likes of these (people).

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Ihyaa Turaath, Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq, Ikhwaan Al-Muslimoon and their allies

    Shaikh Rabee (hafidha-hullaah) stated:

Indeed, from the most severe of afflictions and trials upon Islaam and the Muslims in this era, is the appearance of a group claiming to be upon the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah, but unfortunately this group does not act except in opposition to this methodology and its people; openly at times and behind veils at other times.

And indeed this group has placed a heavy burden upon its shoulders, and that is its defence of the people of innovation and misguidance. They author books in this regard and decorate statements for it; and they spread such defence in the world under the slogan of justice and equity or the methodology of Al-Muwaazanah.

They exceed the limits in the affair of Fiqul Waaqi (knowledge of current affairs) and speak ill of the scholars of the salafi methodology as a result of that; rather they degrade the methodology of the scholars as a result of this and increase in ill speech against the salafi methodology and its people. The effects of the path of justice and equity are neither seen in their arguments against the people of the salafi methodology nor in their praises and exaltations for the people of innovation.

Alongside concealing themselves with the Salafi Methodology, they are not
seen to give it importance except with respect to what they utilize to deceive those deceived by them, or (what they utilize as) garments of salafiyyah in order to bring the people to their corrupt partisan organization in order to kill off their love for the Salafi Methodology, the call to it, defence of it, traversing in it upon the methodology of the pious predecessors with the (correct) loyalty and disownment and being warned against the people of innovation.

So they divert a great deal of people from the true methodology and the truthful alliance for it; and (direct them) towards that passionate alliance to the people of innovation and defence of them, their innovations and falsehoods; or playing down their innovations to the extent that it leads them to the station of the extreme murji-a with regards to their views towards the major innovations and great affairs of opposition to the true religion of Allaah.

And due to this, hatred has occurred from them towards the carriers of the Sunnah and the salafi methodology; and they set up those who present their mistakes which have neither been criticized by a Sunni nor an innovator from amongst those who ascribe themselves to Islaam. They present these mistakes as mighty affairs of blunder and destruction; rather they make the virtues and merits of ahlus Sunnah to be repugnant and disdainful in addition to much fabrication and accusation.

So with these disgraceful deeds they perpetrate, they are from the severest in war against the salafi methodology and its people; the severest in their opposition to the salafi methodology and its people; the most intense in their defence of the groups of innovation and trials.

They have authorships in this regard and from them: The many authorships of Shaikh Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq who carries the responsibility of this destructive orientation. [Source: Bayaanu Fasaadul Mi'yaar; Hiwaar ma-a hizbiy mutasattir; page: 5-6]

Imaam Al-Albaanee Likens Ihya Turaath in Kuwait to Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen

Question To Imaam Al Albaanee (rahimahullaah)

    Question:
Have you come across a book written: (titled) 'Al-Muslimoona Wal-Amalus Siyaasee, or in a cassette other than that (of) Shaikh Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq's book?

    Answer:

Perhaps, I have read it. I have observations on it, because from a (certain) view point we hold that political activity is premature at present. And in my belief, the brothers in Kuwait have become like ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen. They do not give importance to dawah; they do not give importance to what is called Tasfiyah Wat-Tarbiyyah [Purification and Cultivation]; their concern is politics, position, elections, parliament and what is similar to that; and it is clear that at the most some of the unlawful (affairs) will be committed due to it..... [Siyaanatus Salafi: page: 613]

Shaikh Saaleh Aala Shaikh Exposes One of The Plots of Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen

    Shaikh Saaleh Aala Shaikh said:

'As for Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen, from that which is the most manifestly evident of dawah with them is that they conceal, disguise, change colours and get close to the one they believe will benefit them and not making known their true reality. The reality of the affair is hidden and amongst them is one who mingles with some of the scholars and the mashaa-yikh for a long time and he (the scholar or shaikh) knows not their reality. He makes manifest a statement but hides the opposite; he does not say all that he has with him. [Al-Fataawaa Al-Muhimmah Fee Tabseeril Ummah: page:180]

Imaam Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi’ee (rahimahullaah) on Ihyaa Turaath

    He (rahimahullaah) said:

'As for Shaikh Al Albaanee, he freed himself from them long ago and Shaikh Bin Baaz disap-proved of them in some affairs. The illegal partisans are deceivers; they approach the virtuous mashaa-yikh of ahlus sunnah amongst those who trust them and say: 'O Shaikh! Indeed a lot of good has been actualized through us, indeed we went to Africa', when in reality they went to split the unity of the Muslims.....'we went to Pakistan and to such and such, so the Shaikh believes (that). And indeed he (Shaikh Bin Baaz) has refuted Abdur -Rahmaan Bin Abdul Khaaliq and I am sure that if their affair becomes clear to him, he will free himself from them' [Siyaanatus Salafi: page:619-620]

Al Allaamah Ubayd Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiriy (may Allaah preserve him) said:

'And from the Political Groups (Al-Jamaa'aat As-Siyaasiyah) which I see should not be co-operated with or to come under their banner is the Jamaa-ah Ahlul Hadeeth in Birmingham, Britain, whose head is Abdul Haadi Al-Omari......'[www.salafitalk.net]

Shaikh Saaleh Aala Shaikh Exposes another plot of Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen

'They warn against those who refute them. If they see an individual amongst the people who knows about their methodology and path and begin to refute them, and warns the youth from affiliation to repugnant partisanship, they begin to warn against him through different ways; sometimes accusing him, sometimes telling lies about him and sometimes charging him with things he is free from, whilst knowing that to be a lie. Sometimes they pursue his mistakes and vilify him; and they inflate that so as to prevent the people from following truth and guid-ance........' [Al-Fataawaa Al-Muhimmah Fee Tabseeril Ummah: page:181]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Question to Shaikh Zaid Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidha-hullaah):

Is there a difference between the verdict against a person that he is from ahlul bidah and the verdict that he is a mubtadi (innovator)? And does the verdict against a person that he is not a salafi or that he is a hizbi necessitates that he is a Mubtadi (innovator)? Can you please shed light on this affair?

    Answer:

    Firstly, you should know:

Indeed Ahlus Sunnah are people of Wara. They neither make Takfeer (i.e. declare a person a disbeliever), Tafseeq (i.e. declare a person a sinner) and Tabdee (declare a person an innovator) except against the one who deserves it based on the evidences in the Book and the Sunnnah and the understanding of the pious predecessors of this Ummah.

    Secondly, you should know:

The people of desires and misguidance are (categorized into) those who are followed and those who follow. Indeed, those who are followed are the ones who set up the various principles of innovation and they call to their innovation and misguidance, and they will carry the burden of their sins and the burden of the sins of those whom they misguided without knowledge, as it is clearly stated in the Qur’aan and the Sunnah.

As for the followers of a leader from amongst the people of desires, then in most cases they are of two categories:

The First Category: Those who possess knowledge, but they harbour evil intentions; so they yield to Satan, desires and the urge of the evil soul. They follow the people of misguidance and oppose the callers to guidance (in that which) Allaah sent His Messenger Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) with.

    The Second Category:

Their share of knowledge is little, so the people of desires take advantage of them and they become (part) of their group. They convince them that what they call them to is the manifest truth and that what their opponents are upon is falsehood. And they convey to them a huge (number) of affairs that resemble the truth but are falsehood in reality, in order to deceive them and submerge them into misguidance.

As for those who are followed-those who set up principles of bidah and call the people to their bidah and misguidance-; then indeed they are marked with the bidah they innovated and call the people to, and for them there is no honour.

As for the followers of the people of desires, it is as I have stated that they are of two categories in most cases. They are to be called to the Sunnah and to cling to it, and that they reject the bidah they have been deceived by and have yielded to. And if they respond to the call of truth through knowledge and action, and reject that which the people of desires and innovation call them to, then this is what is desired and it is a praiseworthy aim. If they reject the advice of the advisers and bargain with falsehood at the expense of truth, and give preference to innovation over the Sunnah, then they deserve to be assigned the term mubtadi (innovator). There is no honour for them after the truth has been established with its evidences and (after) the falsity of that which is in opposition to it of newly invented affairs in the Religion has been clarified, which the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) named misguidance and (for which) he promised its adherents the hell fire; as he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said:

‘’Upon you is to adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided khulafaah after me; hold onto it and bite onto it with your molar teeth. And beware of the newly invented affairs in the religion, for every newly invented matter in the religion is an innovation and every innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the fire.’’ [Source: Al-Ajwibah Al-Athariyyah Anil Masaa-il Al-Manhajiyyah, Khamsoona Su’aalan Wa-Jawaaban: page: 18-19:

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Sheikh Zaid Bin Haadee al Madkhalee (Hafidha-hullaah) stated:

And the one who speaks with the idea of affinity between innovation and following the prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam, then (indeed) his idea is rejected and Allaah’s refuge is sought. The Sunnah is esteemed and be steadfast upon it.

Indeed, I am amazed by men who are heedless of the methodology of the pious predecessors and what a perfect model to follow in (their) boycotting the sinner and the innovator, and having love for the Sunni who turns to adherence to the Sunnah and shows an aversion towards the one who innovates in the Sharee-ah of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam).

And it has occurred just as they (i.e.those who innovate) desire; rather they say with determination: ‘’we are all brothers and are bounded together by Islaam and Eemaan. Do not write refutation against the people of innovation because that is evil and will cause trouble within your ranks. And do not say: oh people! This one is a Tableeghee and that one is an Ikhwaanee, and this one is a Sunni who loves the pious predecessors and that one is an innovator who aids the late comers.’’

This is how the affairs are changed and truth becomes unknown. This is dangerous. Then why don’t you call the innovator and the deceived one to abandon evil, and guide the miskeen through good speech so that he abandons evil and revive the sunnah.
