    Shaikh Abdul-Muhsin Al-Abbaad On Ikhwaan Al-Muslimeen

In The Name Of Allaah The Most Merciful The Bestower Of Mercy[

    Question to Ash-Shaikh Al-Allaamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad [hafidha-hullaah]

Question: There are Jamaa-aat (groups) such as Al-Ikhwaan and other than them; Are these Jamaa-aat from Ahlus Sunnah and what is your advice around this subject matter?

Answer: What is well known of the Jamaa-aat is that the sound one amongst them is the one upon the position that the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and his companions were upon, due to the fact that when the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) was asked about the Firqatun Naaji-yah (the saved sect) amongst the seventy-three sects, he said: ‘’They are those upon that which I and my companions are upon’’

These divergent new sects, firstly: They are newly invented. Their emergence was in the 14th century. They were not present before the 14th Century. They were not present in the world; they emerged in the 14th Century.

As for the upright methodology and the straight path, its foundation was from the time of the advent of the noble Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam). So whoever follows this truth and guidance, then he is saved and rescued; and whoever opposes it, then indeed he is deviated. And what is known of those sects and groups is that they have with them affairs that are correct and affairs that are wrong, but their errors are big and great, so caution is employed towards them.

And there should be eagerness to follow the Jamaa-ah that is ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa-ah, and they are those upon the methodology of the pious predecessors of this ummah; those whose explanations are in accordance with what the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) came with. And explanation of the affairs is not what comes from such and such person upon paths and methodologies newly invented in the 14th Century after the Hijrah.

So, those groups or the group that was referred to was founded and it emerged in the 14th century upon this methodology, and upon this well- known path which is adherence to that which those who newly invented and brought about such methodology/methodologies were upon. So (their) compliance is not upon the evidences from the Book and the Sunnah, rather it is based on opinions, views and newly invented methodologies upon which they establish their codes of conduct and methodologies. And from the most manifest of that is that love and hate is for the one who joins them and the one who is with them.

For example, the group Ikhwaan: Whoever joins them is from them and is taken as an ally; and the one who is not with them is the opposite. If you are with them, even if you are from the filthiest of people, and even if you from the raafidah, you are still their brother and companion. And for this reason, from their methodology is that they gather every Tom, Dick and Harry, even the Raafidiy who hates and detests the sahaabah and does not take the truth that came from the sahaabah. If he (i.e. a person) joins them in their group, he is their companion and is considered to be one from them; and upon him and them is what is incumbent between them.

Therefore, a person should hold onto the path of of safety and securty if he is to be upon truth and guidance, which the companions of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) were upon, and which the pious predecessors of this ummah who followed and traversed upon their methodology and manners were upon.
