The Doctor who tells a person to break his fast, can any Doctor be listened to or is it conditional.

The Doctor who tells a person to break his fast. Can a person listen to any doctor or is it a condition that the doctor is a Muslim>

If the doctor is a specialist in his field and Is truthful and he says to the sick person that the fast will harm that sick person. Then that sick person should break his fast. Even if the doctor who tells him to break the fast is not a Muslim doctor and other than this non Muslim doctor can't be found. Especially when the sick person has a pressing need to break the fast.

ِA doctor advised me not to fast because it will harm my health.. After I had not fasted for fifteen days it became clear to me that the doctor was not a muslim. So what should I do?

It is obligatory upon you to complete on other days those fasts which were not completed. And you were mistaken in relying upon the statement of a doctor who is a non-muslim. Because his opinion cannot be relied upon. And it is obligatory to consult the proficient muslim doctor in this affair and other affairs of the Sharee'ah. And in the future you should bear this in mind. And there are many muslim doctors And all praise is for Allah. And Allah is the one who grants success.
