Celebrating the end of the Islamic year - Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan

    Shaykh Saaliḥ bin Fawzaan al-Fawzaan

Question: There are some people who specify the end of the Islamic year by giving special advices, admonitions, supplications, etc. Is this permissible?

Answer: No, this is considered bid'ah (religious innovation). It is not allowed to specify the end of the Islamic year by giving special greetings or by holding celebrations, nor by giving reminders or making supplications. None of this is permissible and the Salaf didn't do any of it.
