While relaying Shaykh Rabee' bin Haadee al-Madkhalee's Sharh of Imam Ahmad's Usool-us-Sunnah, student 'Abdul-Ilah Lahmami relayed the following tremendous benefits: [The following are notes, with some modifications]

The Success & Tremdous Benefits of Following The Texts, and The Beneficial Knowledge that is Al-Wahyu (Revelation)
In points 35 and 36 of Usool-us-Sunnah, Imam Ahmad (rahimahullaah) said:
To have eeman that Maseehul-Dajaal is to come, there being written between his eyes 'kaafir.' And [to have eeman] in the ahadeeth which have come [to us] regarding him. And to have eeman that that will happen.
And [to have eeman] that 'Eesaa [Ibn Maryam ('alayhi salaam)] will descend, and will kill him at the gate of Ludd.
Shaikh Rabee' (hafidhahullaah) said that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) - via revelation - knows more about the Dajjal than the Dajjal, who himself will not know that what appears like a river from Paradise he will show will actually be a river from the fire, and that what appears like the river from the fire he will show will actually be a river from Paradise. And thus the Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) commanded the believer who encounters this to drink from what appears like the river from the fire, for that is from Paradise: to bend his head (to drink), shut his eyes and drink from it. It is in fact from Paradise, and it is a water that is cold.
The Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: Indeed I know what the Dajjaal has with him. [Muslim, Book of Fitan and Signs of The Hour]
So the believers - the followers of the Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) - also know this via having Eeman in and following the athaar (the texts, the proofs, the ahadeeth). The person who follows the athaar will be saved. Our Deen is based upon athaar (Qur`an and Sunnah): "Allaah said," "His Messenger said," "the Sahaaba said." What a blessed thing to be given: the athaar. So don't feel like you are self-sufficient from needing hadeeth and its people. For opinion is night, whereas hadeeth is day and clear. So be Salafee, be Atharee.

Having a True Fear of Shirk
The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: What I fear more for you than ad-Dajjal is Shirk al-asghar (the lesser shirk). [Muslim] This is why the Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) used to supplicate every night with this du'aa:

[Ahmad 4/403; Sahihul-Jami' As-Saghir 3/233 and Sahihut-Targhib wat-Tarhib 1/19]
Because Shirk nullifies all deeds.[1] Allaah, Subhanahu wa Ta'aala, said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَغْفِرُ أَنْ يُشْرَكَ بِه وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ يَشَاءُ وَمَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدِ افْتَرَى إِثْماً عَظِيما
Verily, Allaah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allaah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin. (An-Nisa`, ayah 48)
وَلَقَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْكَ وَإِلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ لَئِنْ أَشْرَكْتَ لَيَحْبَطَنَّ عَمَلُكَ وَلَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
And indeed it has been revealed to you (Oh Muhammad), as it was to those (Allaah's Messengers) before you: "If you join others in worship with Allaah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among the losers." (Az-Zumar, ayah 65)

The Innovators are More Hidden and More Harmful than Maseehul-Dajjal (Anti-Christ)!
The shaikh mentioned the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), who said: Other than the Dajjal I fear for you. [Muslim]

Shaikh Rabee' said Maseehul-Dajjal has ka-fa-ra between his eyes - clear for people to see - he is known. It is a fitnah that is wadiH (clear). As opposed to those who wear the clothes of Islaam and in the name of Islaam with slogans of Islaam, and say "Allaah said" and "His Messenger said." They will be more harmful (than the Dajjal). The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: Other than the Dajjal I fear for you.

Those who deceive and bring doubts to people - the liars - they are many.
The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) warned of them, and said 30 great dajjals (Liars) will come. So more harmful and hidden are the Innovators at the head of these 72 deviant sects "in the name of Islaam" calling to the hellfire. In the past, you had the Mu'tazila, Jahmiyah, Khawaarij, Murji'ah... Each one has their own Usool opposing the Usool of Ahlul-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah. And the Innovators today are following the Innovators from before because they read their books.
So, for example, the Takfeeris of today are following the Khawaarij of the past. Are they to be called Khawaari? Yes, if they have the attributes of the Khawaarij, they are Khawaarij! Because the Messenger of Allaah said: The last of them will be with the Dajjal. Fighting against who? Against the Muslims.[2][3]
And pay attention that Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said that the Khawaarij will fight alongside Ad-Dajjal against the Muslims!
What moves the Khawaarij is dunya, in imitation of their founder Dhul-Khwaisra. When Dhul-Khwaisrah saw the Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) giving some extra from the anfal (spoils of war) to those whose hearts he wanted to strengthen upon Islaam, Dhul-Khwaisrah wanted that for himself. So he said: Be just oh Muhammad. The 'ulemma said Dhul-Khwaisrah wanted a share for himself. In contrast, the Sahaba (radiallaahu 'anhum) knew exactly what the Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) was doing and understood and were patient.
Dhul-Khwaisrah is the father of the Khawaarij today. Usamah bin Laden and Abu Qatadah [al-Filistini] and Abu Hamzah [al-Misri] are the Khawaarij in our time. They declare a Muslim a "kaafir" on account of a major sin, with a heavy concentration of takfeer upon the Muslim rulers. [4]
These deceivers - and other groups - are alive today: the Khawaarij, Mu'tazilah, Jahmiyah, Murji'ah, Asha'irah who are Kullabiyah now, since they no longer follow Abul-Hasan al-Ash'aree (who repented from the bid'ah of the Kullabiyah [distorting the text], and also from the bid'ah of the Mu'tazila [placing the 'aql above the infallible naql] after more than 40 years of misguidance). Abul-Hasan al-Ash'aree (rahimahullaah) wrote three books in refutation of those heresies which he used to be upon.

Imam Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah) was The Lion of the Majlis and a Lion in Refuting Ahlul-Bid'ah and their Doubts!
Also, 'Abdul-Ilah relayed some of the weak arguments and doubts that the ignoramuses - from Hizb-ut-Tahreer and the chicks of the Mu'tazilah and other liars - who came to Shaikh Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah) to argue with him only to go home refuted. [Instead of benefiting from the Mujaddid and Muhaadith of our time, they went to his house in Ammaan to argue with him!]
One ignoramus refused to agree that if they disagreed on a matter, they would refer it back to Allaah and His Messenger (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). Another claimed that he was 'Eesa ibnu Mariam ('alayhi salaam). In refuting him and his yelling, Shaikh Al-Albaanee said to him, "Is this from the manners of a Prophet?" Another person of serious doubts said to Al-Albaanee (who was relaying proofs), we need to establish the existence of Allaah first. Aoodhubillaah! Al-Albaanee said this is a statement of Kufr! The ignoramus said you are calling me a Kaafir and left. And Shaikh Al-Albaanee explained - to those who stayed behind - the difference between Kufr and Kaafir, and re-iterated that this statement of that ignoramus was a statement of Kufr![5]
Also included were beautiful statements of praise for Imam Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah), who was the Asad (the lion) of the Majlis (congregation). Shaikh Muhammad al-Bannah (rahimahullaah) said: "When Imam Al-Albaanee is amongst us, we keep quiet." Imam Al-Albaanee's quickness with the proofs and knowledge of the text and hadeeth was tremendous. And he could debate. When he debated a Mu'tazili, who refused to refer matters back to the Qur`an and Sunnah - and insisted on referring matters back to the 'aql - Imam Al-Albaanee (rahimahullaah) said to him: "Whose 'aql shall we refer to: mine or yours?," showing him that alongside the fact that the 'aql is not protected from error whereas the revelation is infallible - that alongside this - everyone's 'aql differs.

Wahy is given precedence to 'aql and Science!
Also during the class, 'Abdul-Ilah mentioned that Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala in the Qur`an informs us that our brains are actually in our hearts.
Allaah said:
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوب يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَان يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لاَ تَعْمَى الأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ
Have they not travelled through the land, and have they hearts wherewith to understand and ears wherewith to hear? Verily, it is not the eyes that grow blind, but it is the hearts which are in the breasts that grow blind. (Al-Hajj, ayah 46) Imam Al-Albaanee (who died over a decade ago) said: "The doctors til this day still haven't figured out that our brains are in our heart. It is the hearts that we think with." Look how limited the intellect is: it [the intellect itself] doesn't even know where it [the intellect itself] is. Subhan-Allaah!
Immediately after the class - while the tape was still recording - a brother (jazahu Allaahu khairan) relayed to 'Abdul-Ilah (hafidhahullaah) that scientists at Heart Math Institute (in America) have found evidence that the heart has a brain, and that the heart influences the brain. 'Abdul-Ilah said they realized this now [Al-Hamdulillaah] whereas the Muslims have known this and believed this for over 1,400 years.[6]

[1] Major Shirk nullifies all of one's deeds in totality, whereas the Lesser Shirk nullifies that deed itself that was corrupted.
[2] If they have the 'aqeedah and Manhaj of the Khawaarij, they are Khawaarij. The Khawaarij make takfeer of a Muslim on account of a major sin, they rebel (or call to rebellion) against the ruler... Don't be deceived by the Khawaarij, who call themselves by other names today. Some of the groups of Khawaarij today are: "Ikhwanul Muslimeen," and "Qutbiyoon" and "Hizb-ut-Tahreer" and "Suroori" and "Hadaadee" and "Lashkar-e-Taiba" and "Muhaajiroon." These groups are Khawaarij. ...And they lie much! So beware!
[3] Also, Ibn 'Umar (radiallaahu 'anhumma) said, "I heard Allaah's Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) say: Every time a new generation of them rises, they will then disappear, more than twenty times and then said: Until the Anti-Christ finally appears among them."[Ibn Majaah (no. 174), declared hasan by al-Albaanee in As-Saheehah (no. 2455)]
[4] Usamah bin Laden has since reportedly been killed. [And Anwar al-'Awlaki, also.] And all Praise is for Allaah!
[5] [The original foundation is the fitrah that we were created upon, which is then followed and supported by the overwhelming evidences and signs that lead a sincere and truthful slave to single out Allaah with all worship - not that we begin by assuming a position of doubt as is the way of the Ahl al-Kalaam, some of whom stated that one must start out from a position of doubt and then use pure reason to establish the Lordship of Allaah. This is heresy and the doorway to disbelief! And this path of the Ahl al-Kalaam of old from the Mu'tazilah and others is echoed today in the methodologies of da'wah followed by al-Zindani and his likes.
May Allaah reward student Abu Iyaad Amjad Rafiq (hafidhahullaah), who additionally advised - for clarification - that if someone said, "we need to establish evidences for Allaah's existence to use against the atheists and the likes," then this is not a statement of kufr.]
[6] Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Salih al-'Uthaimeen (rahimahullaah) said: "This is an issue which has caused confusion for many who examine affairs with a materialistic mindset; they do not refer back to Allaah nor His Messenger (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam). The reality of the matter is that 'Aql is in the hearts, which are in the breasts [of mankind].
Allaah said:
أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوب يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَان يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لاَ تَعْمَى الأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِنْ تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ

Note that He [Allaah] did not say the hearts which are within the brains, but rather: which are within the breasts."
Then the Shaykh mentioned the well-known hadeeth about the heart being the key part of the body. Imams Bukhari and Muslim (rahimahumullaah) recorded from the hadeeth of Nu'man ibn Basheer (radiallaahu Ta'aala 'anhu) that the Messenger (salallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Verily within the body is a morsel of flesh. Whenever it is sound, the whole body will be righteous and sound. And whenever it becomes corrupted, then the whole body will become corrupted. It is the heart.
Therefore, it can be determined that 'Aql is contained in the heart; the brain simply envisions thoughts, prepares them, and sends them to the heart, which then either orders or forbids. [From Sahab.Net, via SalafiTalk.Net]
