Question: What is the verdict on placing animals in zoological parks and specifically keeping them captive for the purpose of being viewed?
Answer: We know nothing that would prohibit this, and there is nothing wrong with it. From the benefits of it is that it allows people to learn about these animals and to view them, and there is nothing wrong with this. They learn about these animals and they are able to enjoy themselves, as long as the zookeepers fulfill the needs of the animals, that they provide those animals with food and drink, if that be the case then there is nothing wrong in shaa' Allaah.

ما حكم وضع الحيوانات في حديقة الحيوانات وحبسها لمشاهدتها ؟

ما نعلم في هذا شيء، لا حرج في ذلك ؛ لأن فيه شيء من الفوائد يعرف الناس هذه حيوانات، ويقفون عليها ، لا بأس في ذلك ، يعرفونها ويتفرجون عليها إذا كان الحابس لها يقوم بحاجتها ، يعطيها حاجاتها من الطعام والشراب ، إذا حبسها وأعطاها حاجاتها فلا حرج إن شاء الله.
