Beware of those who make apparent attachment to Shaykh Rabee', but show resistance or resentment towards the clarity provided in the Shaykh's beneficial, precise Refutations

Beware of those who make an apparent attachment to Shaykh Rabee' (hafidhahullaah) but show resistance or resentment towards the clarity provided in the Shaykh's beneficial and precise refutations against the people of falsehood!


Abu 'Iyaadh Amjad Rafeeq (hafidhahullaah) said at the end of the introduction to Shaykh Rabee' bin Haadee's Advice Regarding Da'wah and Cautioning Against Exaggeration: "However, there is a clear pattern observed in the activities of those who make an apparent attachment to the Shaykh but have demonstrated their historical resistance or resentment towards the clarity provided in the Shaykh's beneficial and precise refutations against the people of falsehood. On the contrary, these people criticize and warn against the Salafīs who value the truth and clarity provided in the writings of Shaykh Rabīʿ for no reason except that they translate, spread and distribute the refutations of the Shaykh."

Near the end of the same work, Abu 'Iyaadh said: "Those who have been criticised by the Scholars in one way or another from the likes of Taḥir Wyatt, Abu Usāmah Khalīfah, the Madeenah.Com network and numerous others, it has never been known from them to give attention to the refutations of Shaykh Rabīʿ against the mockers of the Prophets, revilers of the Companions, promoters of corrupt principles, distorters of Salafiyyah, allies of the Ikhwānīs, and shielders of the various jamāʿāt in the same way they give attention to attacking and undermining the Salafīs who value Shaykh Rabīʿ's efforts and writings over the last two decades. This reality is apparent and is a matter of public and open historical record. All people with acquaintance in this matter recognize the hypocrisy that is readily apparent in their selective promotion of many of Shaykh Rabīʿ's statements."

Those upon the nebulous, watered down methodology of the Ikhwanee Mubtadi' Abul-Hasan al-Ma`rabee - such as the Madeenah-(dot)-con network - are adverse to the clarity and precision of the scholarly refutations, and criticize, slander and warn against the Salafees who relay these scholarly refutations from Shaikh Rabee' bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) and the likes of Shaikh Saalih ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan, Shaikh 'Ubaid ibn 'Abdullaah al-Jaabiree, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee, Shaikh Abul-'Abbaas 'Aadil ibn Mansoor, Shaikh Ahmad ibn 'Umar Bazmool, Shaikh Abu Muhammad Ahmad as-Subay'ee, Shaikh Abu 'Uthmaan Muhammad al-Anjaaree (hafidhahumullaah)...

The clarity and precision of the scholarly refutations remove the doubts, and provide specifics and details to the opposition, characteristics and plots of the outward deviants - and the hidden deviants - shining a bright light upon these people and their crooked ways and false principles. Instead of taking this admonition and refutation as a means to recognize their opposition to the 'Aqeedah and Manhaj that Allaah 'Azza wa Jal commanded with, and thus repent to Allaah, the deviants show objection and resentment to these precise scholarly refutations and advices that expose them. And the Salafee is not surprised by the resentment and objection of the outward deviants, but he may be caught off guard by the objection of the one who kept himself hidden. And this highlights the tremendous importance of following the truth and not any individual whatsoever in opposition to the truth - even if that person is your closest companion, even if that person taught you Salafiyyah, even if that person is a caller, khateeb or translator.[1]


Imaam al-Awzaa'ee (d. 157H, rahimahullaah) said: "Adhere to the narrations of the Salaf (the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and Sahaaba), even if the people were to abandon you. And beware of the opinions of people, no matter how much they beautify it with speech."

Shaykh Rabee' Ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) said: "We have been afflicted in these days with those who falsely accuse true Salafis of being extreme and harsh in al-Jarh wat-Ta'deel (praising and criticising) and in other areas. He wages war against them in the most severe fashion whilst he makes peace with the people of innovation and desires, heaping praise and commendations upon them. So (you find that) he falls into tamyee' when dealing with the people of innovation and at the same time he shows a destructive form of extremism towards the people of Sunnah and the truth..."

So don't be deceived by those who slander the relayers under a variety of guises. Their intended target is that which is relayed itself, but they don't want to expose themselves. They want to remain concealed. And this is one of the reasons that when deviated students are in front of the scholars, generally these deviated students will neither put forth their doubts nor will they even request an explanation of that very matter (in 'Aqeedah and Manhaj!) they oppose, nor the truthful scholarly statement they attack others for relaying - because they already know the proofs are against them and they have decided to follow their desires. Rather some of them will boldly say, "Can I have a tazkiyah, ya shaikh." La hawla wala quwata illa billaah! How will this fraudulently-obtained tazkiyah help these tricksters, deceivers and cowards before Allaah on Yawm al-Qiyammah? May Allaah - Al-Hayy al-Qayyum - not bless these people in their fraudulently-obtained tazkiyaat. Ameen.


Allaah, Ta'aala, said:

لاَ تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ يَفْرَحُونَ بِمَا أَتَوا وَيُحِبُّونَ أَنْ يُحْمَدُوا بِمَا لَمْ يَفْعَلُوا فَلاَ تَحْسَبَنَّهُمْ بِمَفَازَة ٍ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيم

Think not that those who rejoice in what they have done (or brought about) - and love to be praised for what they have NOT done - think not you that they are rescued from the torment, and for them is a painful torment. (Aali 'Imran, ayah 188)

Imaam Ibnul-Qayyim (d. 751H, rahimahullaah) said: "They rejoice in what they have brought about of bid'ah, misguidance and shirk, and love to be praised for (what they have NOT done) following the Sunnah and sincerity." [Madaarij as-Saalikeen 1/84]

Shaikh Abu Muhammad Ahmad As-Subay'ee (hafidhahullaah) said: "Only strive in clinging to the Sunnah; even if all of mankind praised you, it would not increase you in anything with Allaah."

Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) said: "There is to be found a practice amongst some of the Ḥizbiyyīn and Mumayyiʿīn in that they travel to the lands of the scholars and show a face - a behaviour and a positioning - other than the one known from them by Ahl al-Sunnah in their own land. This is found with some of those who graduate from the Islāmic institutions and gain acceptance and trust from the Scholars.


However, in their own lands, their daʿwah, friendships and allegiances clash with what they made apparent to those Scholars when in close proximity to them. The people of their lands are thus more insightful about them and this is a well-known and established principle in the field of al-jarḥ wal-taʿdīl (disparagement and commendation). How excellent is the oft-repeated statement of Shaykh Rabīʿ, 'Indeed, it is his actions that (serve) as a commendation (tazkiyah) for him,' meaning that commendations from Scholars do not provide certainty about the [soundness of the one recommended] until that is seen from him in his actions, in his friendships, loyalties and positions."

As is clear, this insincere showing of more than one face is definitely not from the actions of Ahlus-Sunnah. Rather, it is from the actions of Ahlul-Bid'ah.

Imam al-Awzaa'ee (d. 158H, rahimahullaah) said: "No man introduces a bid'ah except that his piety (taqwah) is taken away." [Mountains of Knowledge, page 148]

Shaikh Khalid 'Abdur-Rahmaan al-Misri (hafidhahullaah) said: "By Allaah, if the whole world was to know you by way of its scholars and students of knowledge yet you don't fear Allaah, by Allaah it (the scholars and students knowing you) will not benefit you at all! And if the whole world was to not know you, yet you were a person upholding the Sunnah, then verily you are a person of the Sunnah."


And from the fruits of being aware of these tricksters' deceptions and plots is so when falsehood reaches you - without you seeking it, of course - you reject it regardless of who it comes from, regardless of his tazkiyah and certificate and degree(s). As the scholars have taught: The truth is not known by men, but rather the men are known by the truth. Know the truth, and you will know its people.

Shaikh Ahmad ibn 'Umar Bazmool said: "Follow the Haqq (truth) - don't follow individuals."

So falsehood doesn't cease to be falsehood simply because it came from Abu Fulan who has a tazkiyah and a degree (or degrees), and whose tweet was re-tweeted by Abu Fulan, or he re-tweeted the tweet of Abu Fulan. No! Falsehood is falsehood! If it opposes the Qur`aan and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf, it is refuted! If it opposes the Salafee 'Aqeedah and Manhaj, it is refuted! If it opposes the truth, it is refuted!

We now live in a time in which there is much boldness, such that a deviated or infected caller will war against one who relays a statement of truth (in Manhaj!) from the very scholar that this infected caller openly ascribes himself to, or oppresses one for saying a statement of truth (in Manhaj!) that this infected caller himself previously translated from the Shaykh. Bold!

Ya akhee, not only did the Shaikh say this (again, truthful statement) - i.e. so why aren't you on the phone with him seeking clarity instead of attacking the one who simply relayed it? - but you yourself translated it! Here, look...

Deafening Silence!

Now, pay close attention to the following scholarly advice - may Allaah have mercy on you.

Shaikh Khalid 'Abdur-Rahmaan al-Misri (hafidhahullaah) insightfully said: "Whenever you see someone giving da'wah and he does not return people back to the 'Ulamaa, know he is hiding something!"

This gem of a precise scholarly statement deserves repeating: "Whenever you see someone giving da'wah and he does not return people back to the 'Ulamaa, know he is hiding something!"

May Allaah protect the Salafees from the plots of Ahlul-Bid'ah!

Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) said: "It is from the ways of the Ḥizbiyyīn and Mumayyiʿah and others to cause doubt and confusion about the refutations and warnings of the Scholars. The original scholar who disparaged the person in question did so based on evidences regarding the reality of that person. So when doubts appear, then that scholar is returned to who will clarify the evidences. In many cases, returning back to the original speech (recorded or written) made by that scholar will be sufficient. If there are doubts, they can be presented to the scholar who will remove them by Allāh's permission."

Subhan-Allaah, how clear is the Salafee Manhaj! And thus how exposed are those who oppose it?

Shaikh Ahmad ibn 'Umar Bazmool said: "Abandon those who claim Salafiyyah but they oppose it."

Allaah's pure Religion that He revealed to His Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) - The Original Affair - is free from the vagueness and the deceptions of these tricksters, so don't allow shaytan and his soldiers to frustrate you or intimidate you or make you give up or veer off Allaah's Straight Path. Never give up! Never! Allaah blessed you to be Salafee, and you entered the correct Islaam seeking Allaah's endless reward, so don't you leave it for the creation no matter how much they oppress you. Don't ever give up![2]

Allaah said (what means): Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: "We believe," and will not be tested. And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allaah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allaah knows all that before putting them to test). (Al-'Ankabut, ayah 2-3)

As one of the Salaf insightfully said: "The best way to respond to someone who disobeys Allaah concerning you is for you to obey Allaah concerning him."

Allaah said:

وَلاَ تَسْتَوِي الْحَسَنَةُ وَلاَ السَّيِّئَةُ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَه ُُ عَدَاوَة ٌ كَأَنَّه ُُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيم وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيم

The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel (the evil) with one which is better (i.e. Allaah ordered the faithful believers to be patient at the time of anger, and to excuse those who treat them badly), then verily! he, between whom and you there was enmity, (will become) as though he was a close friend. But none is granted it (the above quality) except those who are patient, and none is granted it except the owner of the great portion (of the happiness in the Hereafter i.e. Paradise and in this world of a high moral character). (Fussilat, ayah 34-35)

And beware of their abundance of purposely vague and general statements by which they seek to remain concealed and by which they seek to hide their alterior objectives and by which - when caught - they seek to pretend ignorance. You say "so and so (the one whom they defend) is from Ahlul-Bid'ah," and they say, "Don't preceede the 'ulemma in tabdee'." A statement of truth by which they intend falsehood, for verily saying someone is from Ahlul-Bid'ah does not necessitate tabdee' (declaring him to be an Innovator). As the 'ulemma have clearly explained and clarified, a person upon bid'ah becomes sahib-bid'ah (a person of bid'ah) and the one whom the proof is established upon and he rejects it, then he becomes an Innovator. There's a difference between a person of bid'ah and an Innovator, the first is more general and the second is more specific. Proof needs to be established for the second but not the first. Again, saying someone is from Ahlul-Bid'ah does not necessitate declaring him to be an Innovator. This itself is from the 'ulemma, whom we are commanded to return to.[3]

But those who have something to hide cowardly don't return to the 'ulemma in these affairs. These types of games and the use of vague and general statements are among the obvious characteristics of the Madeenah-(dot)-con Network and those who secretely support them, those who secretly defend the likes of Abul-Hasan al-Ma`rabee and Tahir Wyatt - even under the guise of a "sincere advisor" by means that even include purposely understating the scholars' precise and clear statements. As the 'ulemma beautifully and insightfully stated: the translation of the (authentic) scholarly work takes the ruling of the translator. So beware whom you give the responsibility to translate. The one who translates should not be one who - behind the scenes - attacks the Salafees who value the truth. The one who translates should not be one who - behind the scenes - defends the likes of Tahir Wyatt and Muhammad ibn Muneer "Mufti" and their methodology. The one who translates should not be one who seeks a tazkiyah from the very scholar whose statement (in Manhaj!) he opposes.

These tricksters - if they are given this responsibility - will attempt to water down the truth, and they will understate what they are able in secret defense of their beloved.

Pay attention to the following amazingly insightful scholarly statement - may Allaah have mercy on you.

Shaykh Ahmad Subay'ee (hafidhahullaah) said: "Whoever only wants to confront outright falsehood, then most of the time he doesn't strive to make the Truth clear and apparent."

Again, Shaykh Ahmad Subay'ee said: "Whoever only wants to confront outright falsehood, then most of the time he doesn't strive to make the Truth clear and apparent."

Subhan-Allaah! How many are there today who ascribe themselves to clarity but - behind the scenes - war against those who relay the scholars' clear and precise refutations.

Shaikh Abul-'Abbaas 'Aadil Ibn Mansoor said: Even worse is who sits with the (deviant sects) and makes excuses for them. In this, he is BETRAYING THE SUNNAH!!

Shaykh Ahmad Subay'ee said: "So be warned O Sunni! Lest you oppose the call of the Sunnah, or you become one who is with those who do not aid the truth and its people."

And know - may Allaah have mercy on you - that none of this deception (nothing at all!) is hidden from Allaah. Subhan-Allaah!

Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala said (what means): ...He knows the secret and that which is yet more hidden. (Ta-Ha, ayah 7)

Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala said: And whether you keep your talk secret or disclose it, verily, He is the All-Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). (Al-Mulk, ayah 13)

Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala said: That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. (Al-Haaaqqah, ayah 18)

Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala said: And Allaah is not unaware of what you do. (Al-Baqarah, ayah 74)

Allaah Subhanahu wa Ta'aala said: Consider not that Allaah is unaware of that which the Dhaalimoon do, but He gives them respite up to a Day when the eyes will stare in horror. (Ibraheem, ayah 42)

Shaikh 'Ubaid ibn 'Abdullaah al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullaah) said: "There's not a person of the Sunnah who is upon it both apparently and in his heart except that Allaah prepares for him acceptance and those who aid him and love him and bear witness that he is upon the Sunnah - even if it is after some time. And there is not a person of desires and Bid'ah who hides himself with the Sunnah apparently, except that Allaah uncovers his secrets, and exposes him and humiliates him upon the hands of Ahlus-Sunnah."

And beware of those who show more than one face, speak in generalities to purposely conceal and oppose the details, and make statements by which they seek to blanket both people of falsehood as well as people of truth. These people are internally not pleased with the clarity provided in the scholars' beneficial and precise advises and refutations against the people of falsehood. From them are those who act as though the scholarly statements have no meaning - that they're somehow not to be acted upon, nor explained. Subhan-Allaah! How many highly beneficial advices, directions and explanations are contained within the scholarly lessons and refutations! There is a reason why Allaah Al-Hakeem (The All-Wise) commands us to return to the scholars. The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets ('alayhimu salaam); the scholars relay the Sharee'ah - not desires, not hizbiyyah - the scholars relay and explain the Sharee'ah not fearing the blame of the blamers. These insightful statements of the 'ulemma are an explanation of Allaah's revelations upon His Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). In these golden scholarly statements is also an explanation of implementation.

Al-Hamdulillaah for His tremendous blessing of the Salafee scholars, the true inheritors of the Prophets.

So, from the fruits of being aware of these tricksters' deceptions and plots is so that when falsehood reaches you - again, without you seeking it - you reject it regardless of who it comes from, regardless of his commendations and degrees and certificates.[4] Falsehood is falsehood. Falsehood doesn't cease to be falsehood simply because it comes from someone with "status." And all this stresses the importance of knowing your Religion with proofs, and connecting yourself to the Salafee scholars such as Shaikh Rabee' Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee, Shaikh Saalih ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan, Shaikh 'Ubaid ibn 'Abdullaah al-Jaabiree, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadee al-Madkhalee, Shaikh Abul-'Abbaas 'Aadil ibn Mansoor, Shaikh Ahmad ibn 'Umar Bazmool, Shaikh Abu Muhammad Ahmad as-Subay'ee, Shaikh Abu 'Uthmaan Muhammad al-Anjaaree (hafidhahumullaah), and those upon their way of WudooH (clarity).


As Shaikh Rabee' (hafidhahullaah) said: "Be men, if you are Salafis. Study the Manhaj of the Salaf from its original sources and adhere to it strictly and tightly, and do not fear the blame of the blamers if you speak sincerely for Allaah."

May Allaah preserve upon the Sunnah those who want the Sunnah, and expose the deceivers. We ask Allaah for safety and well-being.

And Allaah knows best.

[1] Allaah's Messenger (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: Love the one whom you love in moderation, for the day may come when you have to hate that one (for the sake of Allaah). And hate the one whom you hate in moderation, for the day may come when you have to love that one (for the sake of Allaah). [at-Tirmidhee and others, declared 'saheeh' by Imam Al-Albaanee, rahimahullaah]

Al-Manaawee, the great scholar of hadeeth (rahimahullaah), explained this hadeeth: "Do not love a person so much that no matter what he calls you to - whether it is from the truth or falsehood - that you are with him in that matter. But rather love him in moderation. Because if you have loved him (beyond moderation), then when the time comes for you to dislike him - because he has become a deviant or a disbeliever or a man of evil, wicked sin - you will not have the ability to hate him for the sake of Allaah, Subhanahu wa Ta'aala..."

[2] Abu Uwais (rahimahullaah Ta'aala) said: "A lot of us don't like to get blamed. We don't want to be talked about. All we want to hear about ourselves are good things. Want to be nice, get along with everybody. (Want people to say about you,) 'that brother is good.' The Ikhwanees (from the Khawaarij) say he's good. The Tableeghis (from the Soofees) say he's good. This (sect) says 'he's cool.' Tableeghis say (imitating the accent of some of them), 'he's alright, my brother.' He's okay. The brother is a good brother.

[No. No.] He doesn't fear - when it comes to [defending the Deen of] Allaah - the blame of the blamers. This is a quality that Allaah mentions in the Qur`an.* This is a quality one needs to have - not fearing the blame of the blamers.

Let 'em talk about you! Let 'em downgrade you! Let 'em belittle you! Let 'em make up lies about you! Let 'em slander you! Let 'em be green with envy! Let 'em hate you! Let 'em talk about you like a dog and its mother! All that!

So what!?

The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) was called 'crazy,' 'a sorcerer,' one who separates between a man and his child, one who separates between a husband and wife. Everything, he was talked about.

Did that stop him (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) from giving da'wah? Did that stop him (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) from being upon the haqq? [No.]

Let them say what they want to say. The tongues are wagged, and you keep walking.

The tongues are wagged, and you keep moving, because you're on the haqq! You're on the right path that connects you to Allaah, Tabarak wa Ta'ala, and the abode of His Generosity that is called Jannah!"

*Allaah said (what means): O you who believe! Whoever from among you turns back from his religion (Islaam), Allaah will bring a people whom He will love and they will love Him; humble towards the believers, stern towards the disbelievers, fighting in the Way of Allaah, and never afraid of the blame of the blamers. That is the Grace of Allaah which He bestows on whom He wills. And Allaah is All-Sufficient for His creatures' needs, All-Knower. (Al-Ma`idah, ayah 54)

Don't Ever Give Up!, by Abu Uwais (rahimahullaah)

Questioner: It seems like the person who encourages the good is the person whom the people attack. Just as an example, I went to an event and it was in a gymnasium, and the brother prayed (made the salat) in his shoes. And the people (non-Salafees) verbally attacked him as he tried to explain the Sunnah. And they said, "You Salafees are arrogant." And they began to attack the brother. He used to be a person who would always encourage the people with the Sunnah, especially those things that a lot of people don't do. And now, he doesn't do that...What words of advice and encouragement would you give him in order for him to continue to do what he was doing?

Abu Uwais (rahimahullaah) answered:

"Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah. The Messenger (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Those who receive the most ibtilah (examination or tests or fitnah) are the Prophets then those most like them then those most like them. And the Da'ee (caller) has to realize that he's going to go through these types of things, whoever he is, whoever she is, and whatever amount of 'ilm or knowledge that they call to, they have to expect [this harm]. This is what we [discussed] in Usool Ath-Thalaatha, being patient upon the harms that come [while giving da'wah]. So he should not have given up.

Shaikh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) used to always say, 'Don't give up.' 'Don't give up.' Always be patient, being resilient, striving; never give up for the end result is for the Muttaqeen (the righteous, those who love Allaah, those who have taqwa). For those who believe, Allaah Tabaarak wa Ta'aala will support them, no matter what difficulty they go through.

Look at [the example of] the Prophet when he injured his hand, his finger. He said: Are you nothing but a finger that has been injured and bloodied, and you met in the Path of Allaah what you were meant to meet.

And this is how we should look at things. If you're going to call to the Qur`an and the Sunnah and the Deen of Allaah, Tabaarak wa Ta'aala, we should expect [harms].

If everybody (is showering us with, or placing in front of us) rose petals and opening their arms, then something is wrong with our da'wah. The Da'wah is something that the people are against, at least in the beginning of the matter.

There's (going to be) roughness from them, some turning away. And then you try and try and be patient, and you plant seeds, and basically they are nourished and then they grow, and they come to fruition. So this is how he should have looked at it.

He should never have given up.

And [for] that revival of the Sunnah, he will get a great reward. As a matter of fact, if he sticks to the Deen in the times of fitnah (harj) it's like making Hijrah to the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam). If he makes 'ibaadah (worship) in the times of Fitnah [that's] like making Hijrah to the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam).[A]

And if he holds onto the Deen of Allaah like hot coals, he will get the reward of 50 sahaaba (companions).

There are a lot of bushra (glad tidings) for giving da'wah. He shouldn't look at his situation right now [their objection], but he should think of the future and what would happen bi-idhnillaah Ta'aala.

And the success will be for the believer. No doubt about that!"

Notes:

[A] The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: Worship performed during time of harj is like making hijra to me (the Prophet).

Shaikh Saalih as-Sindee (hafidhahullaah) said: "The one who worships during harj (times when killing, fitna, and fear is widespread, and those who obey Allaah are few, and those who disobey Allaah are many) his reward is like the one who made hijrah to the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) - a reward that only some of the companions (the Muhajjirun) received."

[B] The Prophet (sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) said: 'Ahead of you there lie days of patience, during which being patient will be like grasping a hot coal. The one who does good deeds then will have a reward like that of fifty men who do such deeds.' They said: O Messenger of Allaah, the reward of fifty of them? He said: 'The reward of fifty of you.' (Narrated by Abu Dawood (4341); at-Tirmidhi (3085), who said it is a hasan hadeeth. It was classed as 'saheeh' by al-Albaani in al-Silsilah al-Saheehah [494])

In some reports of the hadeeth, it reads: "They are the ones who will revive my Sunnah and teach it to the people.




[3] Saying someone is from Ahlul-Bid'ah does Not necessitate declaring him to be an Innovator!


Question: What is the difference between their saying, "This is a person of innovation (ṣāhibu bidʿah)" and "this is an innovator (mubtadiʿ)"?

al-'Allaamah Shaikh 'Ubaid ibn 'Abdullaah al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullaah) answered: "In my view, the difference is clear and I will explain it to you: That which we know from the expressions of the People of Knowledge, and their way and methodology in their saying 'Mubtadiʿ', is that they do not apply it absolutely, except for the one upon whom the proof has been established, and who is a person of misguidance, and who is misguided, misguiding others. So they say, 'Mubtadiʿ'. And sometimes they may also use it unrestrictedly, but from the angle of reprimand. However, overwhelmingly, they do not say 'Mubtadiʿ' except for the one who traversed upon innovation and the proof was established upon him. As for 'person of innovation (ṣāhibu bidʿah)', then the condition of the proof being established does NOT apply to it. And they say, 'This is a person of innovation', meaning he traverses upon innovations (or something from them), and this is more general. 'Person of innovation' is something more general, and as for 'Innovator', then it is more specific. Meaning a word that is more specific. So understand this well, may Allāh bless you."

A decade ago, Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Umar Bazmool (hafidhahullaah) said:

"...The later scholars differentiate between a person being described as being a "Saahibu Bid'ah" (person of innovation), and between him being a "Mubtadi'" (innovator), so they say, "Everyone from whom an invention into the deen occurs, then he is a "Saahibu Bid'ah", and he is not to be described as a Mubtadi' until the proof is established upon him, and he stubbornly opposes and persists upon falsehood, and there is nothing to prevent him from accepting the truth, so if he persists and shows stubborn opposition, then he is described as a "Mubtadi' Saahibu Hawaa" (innovator, person of desires).

So they differentiate between a person being a person of desires and being an innovator. So if the brothers Alee and Saleem intend (by their statement) that it they will not describe Abul Hasan as a "Mubtadi'" (innovator) with this meaning, then the matter in relation to them is open and vast until it becomes clear to them that he is an stubborn opposer, and they should excuse Shaikh Rabee and others from the Scholars and students of knowledge to whom the condition of Abul Hasan has become clear that he is a stubborn opposer, who follows his desires, so they describe him with Ibtidaa' (inventing, innovating). However, if it is the case that they do not describe Abul Hasan with "Mubtadi'" (innovator) or with "Saahibu Bid'ah" (person of innovation), then this is in opposition to the bayaan which they signed in Makkah, and in which they made the opposition and error of Abul Hasan explicitly clear in those matters that were written down, because those matters that were textually written as errors of Abul Hasan, they are matters of innovation. So whoever opposes the likes of these matters is to be described as a "Saahibu Bid'ah", and thereafter, if his stubborn opposition is made clear, he is described as an Innovator..."

Have we forgotten the subtle yet exposed attempt of Taher Wyatt (may Allaah guide him) who tried to change Shaikh 'Ubaid's words from "Ahlul-Bid'ah" to "other than Salafee", and Shaikh 'Ubaid (jazahu Allaahu khairan) corrected him on the spot, saying: "Other than them, meaning Ahlul-Bid'ah. Because if the word 'other' is used opposite the word 'Salafee,' it means a person of bid'ah."

Shaikh 'Ubaid: Every Hizbee is a Mubtadi', but not every Mubtadi' is a Hizbee

Student of knowledge Abu Sarah 'Abdul-Ilah Lahmami (hafidhahullaah) relayed that Shaikh 'Ubaid ibn 'Abdullaah al-Jaabiree (hafidhahullaah) said: Mubtadi' (Innovator) is general [in this comparison] and a Hizbee is more specific, and every Hizbee is a Mubtadi' but not every Mubtadi' is a Hizbee.

Shaikh Rabee' bin Hadeel al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) was asked: When may we call someone a Salafee?

Shaikh Rabee' bin Hadeel al-Madkhalee (hafidhahullaah) answered: "Don't say about a man who opposes the manhaj of the Salaf that he is a 'Salafee.' No, don't say about a man who opposes the manhaj of the Salaf that he is a Salafee.

Don't say that a man is 'Salafee' until you are sure that he is upon the manhaj [of the Salaf]. He is honored by it, and calls to it. He loves and unites based upon it, and hates and separates because of it. This is a Salafee. But someone who claims that he is 'Salafee,' and defends Ahlul-Bid'ah, and defends them against Ahlul-Sunnah, this is not a Salafee whatsoever. Whoever he is - Arab or non-Arab, in the East or in the West - because Salafiyyah has special qualities.

Salafiyyah has signs. Salafiyyah has affairs that differentiate its people from others in Walaa` and Baraa`, and 'Aqeedah and Da'wah, and the stances that they take."
