No One Diverts People From Tawheed Except For A Deviant Or Mushrik (http://31097.multiply.com/journal/item/82/No_One_Diverts_People_From_Tawheed_Except_For_A_De viant_Or_Mushrik)

Question to Shaikh Saalih Fawzaan (hafidhahulalah): There are those who claims that the call to Tawheed separates between the Muslimeen, and that they are in need of knowing the dangers of the Jews and the Christians. We hope from you, Oh noble Shaykh, (to give us) clarity regarding this matter. May Allaah give you success, bless you in your life and actions.

Shaikh Saalih Fawzaan (hafidhahullaah) answered:

No one deters the people away from Tawheed except one who is an innovator or a polytheist. There is no consideration giving to him. The Muslimoon are happy with the affair of Tawheed and the praise is for Allaah. They learn it, they turn towards it and their hearts unite upon it. As for the one who has within his heart hypocrisy or doubt or he's a person of innovation or polytheism, this is the one who deters (the people) and he doesn't want Tawheed. No consideration is given to this person nor value. We do not unite the people upon innovations, polytheism, and acts of evil. We unite the people upon the religion, upon Tawheed and sincerity to Allaah. This is what we want. This is what unites the people. Nothing unites the people except for Tawheed.

Just as Allaah has mentioned:

If they try to deceive you Allaah is sufficient for you, He is the one who aided you with His help and the believers. He joined between their hearts, and if you were to had spent all of that which is in the earth, you would not have joined between their hearts, however it was Allaah who joined between their hearts and indeed He is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (Soorah al-Anfaal: 62-63)

So by what were the hearts of the believers joined together? Harmony was brought between them by way of the word of Tawheed. When they said Laa Ilaaha Illallaah (None has the right to be worshiped except for Allaah), made all of the acts of worship for Allaah alone and abandoned polytheism, their hearts united. Prior to that they were separated, divided and fighting against one another. However when the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) called them to Tawheed and they said Laa Ilaaha Illallaah, believed in it and acted in accordance to it, Allaah united their hearts upon Tawheed.

Imaam Maalik (may Allaah have mercy upon him) stated: "The last of this Ummah will not rectified except by that which rectified the first of it."

JazaakAllaahu khayraa akhee. This reminds me of some points Shaykh 'Abdul-Qaadir al-Junaid (حفظه الله) mentioned* regarding how to recognize the callers to / people of innovation.

One of these he mentioned was that they give little importance and focus on Tawheed in their Da'wah.

He mentioned that in Saudi, where - alhamdulillaah - Tawheed is widespread, the 'Ulemaa' and callers upon the Sunnah still give importance to Tawheed. He gave an example that Imaam ibn Baaz رحمه الله would always mention Tawheed in his lectures. He mentioned that he once came across a tape of the Imaam and from the title / audience, he thought that he wouldn't talk about Tawheed; but on listening, the very first part of the Shaykh's talk was on Tawheed!

So he said, if that's the case in Saudi where Tawheed is widespread, then in the other Muslim countries where there is so much Shirk, it's even more important that the Callers in those countries give much importance to & focus on Tawheed.

And so a sign of a person of innovation is his little focus on Tawheed.

* This relatively brief talk was given while the brothers were waiting for dinner during one of the nights of the Dammam Dawrah (http://www.salafitalk.com/threads/168). May Allah reward the Shaykh.
