As for accommodations in Columbus, Ohio [from a brother in Columbus]:

The link below is a cluster of Hotels on Zumstein Dr.

I have found Baymont Inn and Suites to be the best option for a family.

The cluster of hotel has a variety of options ranging from single rooms to Studio apartments with small kitchen. Please check a few of them online or call them.

The sooner you make your reservation, the cheaper the rate.

The hotel cluster is right next to a shopping center, fast food restaurants, and a full supermarket. The distance from the masjid to that cluster is about 7 miles/ 15 minutes. http://goo.gl/maps/RXns

There are also more hotels nearby.

Another area that is closer to the masjid and has some hotels nearby is on Sinclair Rd. http://goo.gl/maps/0VRP

Keep in mind that there is a major construction project in down town Columbus. If you decide to book a room downtown, plan your route on local streets away from the highway construction project. One recommended route is taking Broad st or any parallel street to Cleveland ave.

Options for Halal restaurants, coffee shops, and markets. Searching maps for Cleveland ave, and searching nearby for Somali and Halal gives the following results.
The above is just a sample of what's nearby the masjid.

Helpful Information about Lodging:

Hotels are in fairly close proximity to Masjid Tawheed, many are within a 10 minute drive. Usually the prices are cheaper on hotwire.com (http://hotwire.com/), hotels.com (http://hotels.com/) and priceline.com (http://priceline.com/) as compared to booking directly with the hotel.

*Some of the hotels in the area offer suites with full kitchens for people who prefer to have larger space with separated rooms (e.g. Hawthorn Suites(formerly residence inn) and Town Place Suites). Hotel prices range approximately from $30’s to $100’s.

Detroit airport is approximately 19 minutes drive from the masjid.

Information about Restaurants, Grocery Shopping, etc.:

*The street where the Masjid Tawheed is located (Warren Avenue) has dozens of restaurants offering Middle Eastern cuisine. There are also numerous bakeries for breakfast items as well as fast food restaurants.

*Warren Avenue also has some large grocery stores for people who need to buy groceries during their stay (e.g. Papaya Market, Greenland, and Super Greenland).

The Ford Rd. and Mercury Drive intersection (close to most hotels and also close to the masjid) contains 2-3 shopping plazas that have a Wal-Mart, Target, Dollar Tree, and other commonly-visited stores.

For maximum benefit please plan to arrive before' Asr 6:00 pm EST July 11th and plan to stay until just before noon July 14th. For any further information or questions regarding the program please do not hesitate to contact.
